Minnie Driver Recalls Doctor Calling Her ‘Barren’ at 18 Before Pregnancy with ‘Miracle’ Baby at 37

Minnie Driver is getting candid about her unforeseen journey to motherhood.
The 52-calendar year-previous actress appeared on The Healthful Infant Exhibit podcast — along with host Shazi Visram and parenting specialist Dr. Aliza Pressman — in which she opened up about obtaining her first boy or girl, son Henry, in 2008 right after currently being told she could not have young children.
“I was informed I could not have kids when I was 18,” she describes on the present. “This awful medical doctor just came into the space and he literally as opposed my uterus to the u-bend in a rest room and was like, ‘Nothing’s going through there. You will not be acquiring small children.'”
“So I believed him and I believed him by way of my whole existence,” the actress states.

Driver suggests the doctor referred to her as “barren,” contacting the comment an “absurd” way to describe a woman who could not physically have a child.
“What a preposterous thing to inform them that they are empty, if which is what barren usually means, it suggests useless. A barren landscape, with no fertility. It really is insane,” she adds.
Driver suggests she was stunned to study almost 20 several years later on that she was heading to be a mom.
“When I was 37, I woke up on January the 1st with the flu and I was so bummed,” Driver says, noting she was at a low issue in her existence. “I was like, I have obtained the flu. I experienced just just lately damaged up with anyone who was nice but wasn’t my associate. I failed to have young ones. I failed to have a job. I really don’t know. And then I found out I was expecting.”

Driver later on gave birth to her “wonder” son Henry at 38 decades old. On top of that on the podcast, the actress suggests she realized to not have any more expectations when it arrives to motherhood.
